PORTLAND, August 26, 2021- D6 Inc., the fastest design-to-shelf packaging manufacturer in the world, is excited to announce Founder and CEO Edward Dominion’s selection to the Portland Business Journal class of 2021 Forty under 40 award winners. The awards, recognizing the significant achievements of young business leaders in Oregon each year, honored the recipients in a virtual ceremony on July 22nd.
The Portland Business Journal profiled Ed for the award, and when asked about his career high so far and the importance of leadership, Ed said, “starting with three people and a dream in February 2014, and now our company has created hundreds of jobs across the world. I strive to ensure we have an environment where people can fail and not feel defeated. Failure is temporary, quitting lasts forever.”
Criteria for awards winners was based not only on business contributions but also civic involvement. D6 has a history of supporting the community and local nonprofits. “Most of our donations go to Little Smiles of Hope. This nonprofit helps migrant workers’ children with dental and medical needs, and 100% of every dollar goes toward the children. Doctors donate their time. Dr. Maritza Barboza is an amazing founder human being. I’m proud of her work and drive to help others,” Ed said.
Since D6’s founding in 2014, Ed has led the privately held company to $100 million in annual revenue and 800 employees. Ed has contributed the growth to a focus on their mission of transforming the packaging industry through transparency in the recycling chain. “We are in the business of taking waste, diverting it from landfills and upcycling it into containers, parts and other products that go into consumers’ households or retail and setting up a network for a circular economy to recapture those items, recycle them again, wash clean and make them food-grade or put them into other products,” Ed said.
